STB students commit themselves through community service activities

  1. St. Bernard’s offers its students the opportunities for service projects and instills a life-long commitment to service.
  2. In our diverse world, St. Bernard’s inspires students to be active, informed, and responsible citizens locally, nationally, and globally.
  3. St. Bernard’s teaches respect for creation and prepares students to be stewards of the earth’s resources.
  4. We encourage students to seek opportunities to give back, plan and organize, and see the service experiences through to completion.

Social awareness and community service are established in the school’s identity and in its daily life. Students have the chance for direct volunteer service and to raise funds and collect goods for in-need organizations.

Stewardship and service to our community are core values at St. Bernard’s and much of our student experience is rooted in this.  The spirit of service in the members of our student body enables them to seek their own service opportunities and discover ways to make an impact on their communities.
Service in the Community
Through self-guided service, students go into the community and complete service work at many locations including the United Way, Catholic Charities, and their home parishes.
Our 2017-2018 Service projects include: Saints Against Hunger; Coats from Saints;
Camp Sunshine; and an Easter Basket Drive

Service Through National Honor Society

The National Honor Society teaches students that a spirit of stewardship bolsters strong academic pursuits.  These service opportunities are approved by the National Honor Society Council. The students hand in logs of their service time to ensure that they are committed to giving back in a meaningful way.

Parent Involvement

Parents are encouraged to join the staff in organizing and supporting students’ efforts and modeling a personal commitment to community service.  Active parental involvement is especially important to food/clothing/toiletry drives.
